Daily Prayer

✨ Isaiah 25:1

“O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You and praise Your holy name, for You have done marvelous things—plans formed long ago in perfect faithfulness and truth.”

Today, let us pause and reflect on the unwavering goodness of our God.
Rather than measuring His love by the visible things we lack, may our hearts be tuned to recognize and appreciate the unseen treasures He gives daily—grace, peace, breath, and divine preservation.

In a world overwhelmed by chaos and uncertainty, we still have the priceless gift of life, soundness of mind, and the quiet peace that surpasses understanding. These are not small blessings—they are evidence of His mercy.

So today, let our praise rise—not just for what we can hold, but for what holds us together.

All glory to God!

By Faith Alone

The chasm between God and mankind is crossed only through faith in Christ alone.

Romans 1:16-17

You may be a kind, gentle person—and even naturally benevolent. But unless you admit your need for Christ, you won’t receive His gift of salvation and will miss out on eternity with Him.

Salvation is God’s invitation to a relationship where we “abide in Him and He in us” (1 John 4:13). Understandably, if we’re to participate this way in union with the pure and holy God, sin has no place.

The dilemma, as Romans tells us, is that all people are sinners (Romans 3:23) and the penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23). But God’s solution was to provide a bridge between mankind and Himself by sending His perfect Son to die in our place. We can’t work or reason our way into eternal life. Acknowledging our need for a Savior and accepting Christ’s death as payment for our sins is all that God requires for entering into a relationship with Him. Faith is the only way to heaven (John 14:6).

Perhaps you’re thinking, I want only what I deserve. But no one deserves grace, and nobody can earn salvation. The heavenly Father wants to give them both to His children, undeserving though we are. The truly wise people of this world are those who have accepted the truth and bent their spirit—and their knees—before the Lord.

The Power of Corporate Prayer

Are you willing to join others in praying for solutions to problems?

2 Chronicles 20:14-30

When trouble loomed, Jehoshaphat turned his attention to God and proclaimed a fast throughout Judah (2 Chronicles 20:3) People came from all around to support their king in prayer (2 Chronicles 20:13).

The body of Christ depends upon cooperation. One of the wisest things we can do in the midst of difficulty is to engage the assistance of those who are faithful in praying. Jehoshaphat understood this. Though he was a king, he recognized his limitations and sought divine intervention through prayer.

When the people of Judah prayed, God provided a solution through a trusted prophet. Jehoshaphat was humble enough to listen and wise enough to follow the Lord’s directives (2 Chron. 20:14-17). As a result, the people were saved. The advancing armies turned against each other and destroyed themselves completely, while Judah’s forces suffered not even one casualty. Because their humble king listened, they were able to witness the supernatural victory (2 Chron. 20:22-30).

We have to attune our ears to God’s voice in order to hear Him. Sometimes He may speak through people we wouldn’t ordinarily choose to follow; He may even say things we’re not expecting to hear. But the Lord will provide us with solutions to our problems if we are willing to bring them to Him.

A Balanced Prayer

Remembering the mercy, grace, and power of God gives us confidence to ask for all we need.

2 Chronicles 20:5-12

We can learn valuable lessons from the prayers in the Old Testament. When Jehoshaphat petitioned for divine help, he struck a balance between asking the Lord to meet his needs and proclaiming God’s greatness. Likewise, our requests should be made with recognition of who God is. Otherwise, the focus of our prayers can become need, weakness, failure, or fear.

Jehoshaphat cried out to God about his terrible predicament, but he also exalted the Lord, acknowledging the great things He had done for the people of Israel. That’s why knowing the Word of God is so important (2 Timothy 3:16-17). When we read about how the Lord has worked in the lives of others, we better understand His awesome power. Then we can look to the men and women of the Old Testament as an example and begin to pray in a similar way. God’s wonder-working power is still available to us today, and He wants His children to access it.

By proclaiming, “Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You” (2 Chron. 20:6), Jehoshaphat was praising God and at the same time reminding himself of the Lord’s greatness. As you pray today, speak to God of His mercy, talk to Him about His grace, and recall His mighty power.
