“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind,
to set the oppressed free, and to declare the year of the Lord’s favor.”
— Luke 4:18–19 (RSV)
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the many moments when Your light breaks through our darkness,
when Your strength lifts our weakness, and when Your healing touches our sickness.
You hear the cries of our hearts.
You delight in the love we give when we lift up the name of Jesus and rejoice in our Savior.
Help us to remain in this spirit of gratitude and faith.
Draw near to us with fresh demonstrations of Your power,
not for our glory, but for the glory of Your name.
Come, Lord, into the quiet places of our hearts,
and help us truly understand what it means that You are our Father—through Jesus Christ.
Amen. 🙏
